Baihetan Hydropower Station is located in the Jinsha River in Sichuan Province, China. The maximum dam height of the reservoir is 289m and this power station was equipped with 16 sets of 1 million KW hydropower units, which are the largest single hydroelectric generating set in the world. The project was started in 2013 and will be completed in 2022. After the completion, it will become the second largest hydropower station in China and the twelfth in the world.
At the dam construction site, you can see that a huge cable crane group is arranged on the slopes on both banks. Seven cable cranes run on the parallel tracks in between the two sides of mountains, forming an air corridor for the transportation of concrete, equipment and materials.
Dali Company, which is a 100% subsidiary of Eurocrane and was acquired in 2019, was honored to produce and supply all the cable cranes for Baihetan project.
For the construction of Baihetan dam, a total of 8 million M3 of concrete and 126,000 tons of metal structure, equipment and other materials were needed for lifting, all of which are lifted and transported by these seven huge cable cranes.
